Endnote bug

The recent call for bugs reminds me of this one:
I have two sets of footnotes. Set one uses asterisks and its notes appear on
the same page. Set two uses numbers and its notes appear as endnotes. TTG
tech support says that Endnotes must be specified as "top-hugging" (BF=0 in
the Footnote Format command FM). However, no matter how I specify either
set, the endnotes always appear as "bottom hugging."
A related matter:
Unless I make a blank line before the endnotes DF2 (Dump Footnotes) command,
XyWrite 4.017 hangs up when trying to Print to Screen. Jim.
