I attached the file to my message using the default setting (MIME) of
Eudora Pro for Windows. You certainly will need to decode it somehow at
your end, and from your description it sounds like the decoding hasn't
happened. I think the method Eudora uses is pretty standard (though
probably not universal) and many mail readers will handle it
transparently. I have transmitted files in this way very often without
problems. For example, when I got my message back from the list, the file
was attached to it, and Eudora reassembled it without fuss. I wonder, did
others on this list receive the file properly (in which case Jim may have
to look into his mail setup) or were there problems for others as well?
