Of course some of us avoid the "problem" by using monochrome
'paper-white' monitors.
These are clean, with infinitely small fine lines and dots.
But I couldn't see the initial screens in XY4 because of
their default "DOS" colours on the initial screens; and I had
to borrow a colour monitor to install OS/2 for the same reasons.
