In principle, you
must protect against four main hazards: fire, flood,

war, and bit rot. Copying the same file to 10 identical HDs does not

protect against bit rot. 


I didn't say "identical." And in practice I have a wide variety
for my external media, including flash drives.


I have about 6 independent backups.
