IBM pulled out of the deal before Signature was released, but not before
the manuals and packaging had been printed. The program was returned to
Xyquest who stickered over "IBM" and released it as Signature. They
reverted to XyWrite at the earliest opportunity.

Signature was the first Xy to have a settings.dfl file, and IBM had it
configured to run as a menu driven program. This was of course not to the
liking of the user base. But really all you needed to do was spend ten
hours or so getting settings.dfl figured out and reconfigured; at that
point, you had the familiar Xy look and feel along with some neat new
things.
