VA$CP is the Operating System primary Code Page; default is 437 in U.S.
editions of all M$ OpSys, 850 in Europe.

VALA is the value of the CodePage currently being observed by your XyWrite
document. In eXPanded mode, it is always 437. In draft mode or higher, it is
the LAnguage value embedded in your document, e.g. , or if none present,
your XyWrite LAnguage default.

Some don't display properly except in Draft mode or higher. If that isn't your
problem, then I'll look at it when I get off the road, in about 48 hours. In
meantime, which exact ones don't display correctly?
