Run multiple OSes simultaneously!?!

Off-topic, but relevant:

Have you ever wished it was possible to "multitask" operating
systems, the way a modern OS multitasks programs? Banish artificial
distinctions between apps compiled for one platform or another, and
run the ones you need, when you need them, without the hassle of
rebooting or dropping through "trap doors"? Well, folks, apparently
it's here -- or at least coming soon. Check out the doings at
DOSiX:

DOSiX, in active development by an entity called the DOSiX
Advisement Council, aspires to become a "superOS" that will,
literally, multitask other operating systems. It promises to allow
users to run OS/2, Windows NT and 95, Linux, FreeBSD and even MacOS
all on the same machine at the same time. The idea is to extend the
OS/2 concept of seamless integration of OS/2, MS-Windows and DOS
programs on a single desktop to encompass programs written for any
OS that supports an API called the Standardized DOSiX Communication
Call (SDCC). According to the DOSiX FAQ:

-> The SDCC is currently supported by Windows 3.1, Windows 95,
-> Windows NT, MacOS, Linux and OS/2. The SDCC allows information
-> stored on the Windows 3.1 clipboard to be automatically
-> transferred to the Windows 95 clipboard and the OS/2 clipboard.
-> A SDCC driver for DOS will allow transfer via a command line
-> call.

Imagine running OS/2, Windows and DOS apps (including, of course,
XyWrite) side by side, with a common clipboard accessible by all,
and switching easily from one to the other. Too good to be true?
Maybe. The scuttlebutt is that DOSiX looks "very promising, very
real, very in Alpha right now".

Visit the DOSiX site, read the FAQ, and spread the word. This is
the kind of liberating concept that deserves wide and enthusiastic
support.
