Re: KEYMODE

Hi Carl,

KEYMODE=1 is basically the XyWrite compatibility mode as used by vDosXy. However, as mentioned by the vDosXy manual, vDosXy is only suitable for use with the XyWrite text editor or compatible. Indeed, this keyboard handling mode as implemented by vDosXy has its problems. For example, CAPSLOCK and NUMLOCK don't work in programs such as MS-DOS 7 EDIT and QBASIC, which can be very frustrating. But if you set KEYMODE=2 in vDos-lfn (note that this mode is not supported by vDosXy), then keys such as CAPSLOCK and NUMLOCK will work properly in these programs. So you can choose the keyboard handling mode you want to use in vDos-lfn by using the KEYMODE directive in config.txt.
