Refresh rates (XyDos in XP Window)

Michael, I took a look at the sites you cited (ugh!). The UK one wouldn't
display under Netscape, and the IPrefresh seemed to be concerned with
network and Internet connections (part of that wasn't displaying right
either, so I won't swear to it). The other two did deal with refresh rate
problems, one for Nvidia graphics cards, the other for ATI. I recall that
when we first discussed this, "poor screen refresh implementation" was
blamed for the problem, so this might be a lead. Both sites address the
problems gamers have with their graphics cards refreshing at 60 Hz, no
matter what the card is capable of. Also the ATI site had very clear
directions for backing up one's registry before editing it, which would
be good to have if you don't have book that supplies such a script.
"Refresh rate," for those who mightn't recall, means how often the
electron gun sweeps across the array of pixels that make up a screen,
thus redrawing the image on the screen. Anything 60 Hz or slower will
create a noticeable flicker for normal human eyes, so faster is better.
