Re: OT: OSX tweaks

Harry,

Ah, Lucida Grande. I changed my default some time ago and could not
recall what the box-standard had been.

While we're OT on OSX, you might also get some use of "Main Menu Pro" from

http://incrediblebee.com/

Not freeware, but well worth the price. It does some useful housekeeping
chores, such as cache flushing, index rebuilding, temp-file removal, and
so on.

For essential security I recommend "Little Snitch" available from

http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html

which compliments whatever firewall you have (whether OSX onboard
firewall, or a router). Firewalls only stop things getting in; Little
Snitch stops things getting out (e.g., stops your address book from
uploading itself to Facebook, Twitter, google analytics, and the NSA).
