Printer question

What's the new printer hooked up to? Probably not the same lpt port as
the old. Does the Xy printer setup accurately record the port it's
connected to? Are you trying to use XyWin's own printer driver or
Windows'? (With a multifunction, esp. if it's connected by USB, you
probably have to use the Windows driver, though XP may let you map a USB
port to a parallel port; the protection violation message sounds as if
you're falling foul of networking mapping of printers, with is more of an
issue with XP--and Y2K--than with 9x.) Getting XyWin to recognize a NEW
printer (of any kind) can be tricky, and I cannot recall exactly WHAT I
did the last time to make it work.
