Following my various trials with the Microlytics UK dictionary in XY4 under Win98se, I have finally found a fix. There is an option under Preferences/Defaults/Spelling to skip words with numbers. When this is checked the problem disappears.
I am seriously relieved to have found the solution, but can anybody tell me why this makes a difference?
