So Office is the spanner in the works? Could we file a class action suit
against M$, I wonder? Perhaps in the EU, which seems to be looking for
any stick to beat the bully of Redmond, and more power to them.

Could be a dll, of course, but could it also be that Office is simply
eating up high RAM? Have you tried not letting Office load its stub on
startup?
