	Out of the box, yes, those ctrl+1, 2, 3 are mode keys,
	... except that many users have reassigned those functions
	to other, mnemonic keys (ctrl+i, ctrl+b...), while
	ctrl+1 equals "bug report style" ctrl+2 "Dear TTG" that might
	be better in a save/get
