Hi Brenda, You should be sure to check that your users are indeed quitting
Xywrite and NOT exiting the program. If this is not the case tou should check
if any XPL or any other macros are not initiating any ram resident programs by
use of the DO command. I have seen many users write macros to switch between a
serial and parallel printer by using the DO command to reroute their comm
ports. This rerouting is accomplished by using the DOS MODE command which is a
memory resident program. Ounce this file is opened in the DOS shell, the shell
must remain open resulting in the apparent loss of memory. Bottom Line if you
open a memory resident program while shelling out to DOS, DOS must keep that
shell open (memory) untill the program is terminated. Its worth investigating
