Cyrillic Font

Carl, would Adobe's Cyrillic face give you what you want? It's Minion Cyrillic,
pkg. # 315, issued in 1992. List $275, around $185 at Publishers Toolbox or PC
Connection. Regular & Italic in normal, semibold, and bold, six fonts. A
utility comes with the Adobe fonts that generates bitmap fonts from the
PostScript T1 outlines, and the Lodestar utility from Bill Goelkel
(818-340-0807) will give you a XyWrite LaserJet driver for the bitmap fonts.
Goelkel still has the program for sale, I think, though he is no longer
upgrading it.

The XyWrite utility that adds PostScript fonts to the PS driver doesn't work
with special fonts, they say, so using PostScript outlines for the Cyrillic,
though not impossible, would be trickier.

The Summer 1992 issue of Adobe's font catalog, Font and Function, describes the
font and has a full showing of its characters, with explanatory comments. Adobe
is 800-682-3623; if they can't send you that catalog, give me your address and
I'll send you a tearsheet. There are other sources, and probably less
expensive Cyrillic fonts, but I don't know them. RH.
