"Someone" was wrong. VAriable BI Barf_Inhibit is alive, in all
versions through SmartWords. Since there really are a number of
unique embedded commands in the various versions (NB being the biggest
culprit), unrecognized by the other versions, BI=1 allows documents to be
handled indisriminately, by any of the EDITORs, without protest.
