Re: moving TAME settings from one computer to another

I was using Tame 5.1. I have copied the folder and all its contents from My Documents to the new Windows 7 Documents folder - but Tame isn't giving me my former settings or even the option to create new ones.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit.  I launch xywrite from a desk top shortcut. When I right click the top corner of the icon after opening xywrite, instead of the previous long list of Tame choices, I get
'Maximize'
'Minimize'
'Close'
'Edit' -'Copy' 'Paste' 'Select all' 'Scroll' 'Find'
'Defaults'
'Properties'
'Hide mouse pointer'

Here's a screen shot:Inline image 4

Here's the 'Defaults' screen, Options:

Default, Fonts:

and Layout:

And I can't make the Xywrite window any bigger by changing type size in the properites of the .pif shortcut.

Without Tame, Xywrite appears only in a tiny window.

Very frustrating after having had Xywrite running perfectly in Windows XP!

I found earlier comments from Jon Pareles saying Xywrite worked fine for him in XP Mode, which I haven't yet tried -- and apparently can't install without a virtualization program, for which I have to enable hardware assisted virtualization on my BIOS. (The MS virtualization tool tells me,  "hardware assisted virtualization is not enabled on this computer.")

The best solution is probably vDosxy - but I need to enable virtualization for that too, right?

Use the same name on the new computer that you used on the old one for the shortcuts that run XyWrite.

Copy the Tame 6.0 folder and all its contents (including the subfolder) from My Documents in your old computer to the Documents folder in your new computer.
