XY4 DOS Maximum File Size

I've seen mentions here from time to time about the maximum size of a file
that can be handled by Xywrite. Is there an actual limit, or is it more a
case of things becoming less reliable as one gets beyond a certain size?

I'm creating an archive of pure ascii files dumped out of an old mini text
editing system which is to be retired at the end of the month. I'd like to
create a single archive file containing all the text files within each user
directory that existed on the mini; this means archive file sizes in the
range of 2MB to 5MB.

The archive files need to be CAllable into XY, and selected blocks saved
with SAD. The largest such block might be 50 or 60 pages, which XY seems
to handle OK in draft view. The archive files will have no XY embedded
commands, will never be edited or printed, etc.

I've done a bit of testing. 4MB _seems_ to be OK. But if there's an upper
limit, I'd split the archive files up if necessary to stay comfortably
below it.

Many thanks.
