Re: XyLose err Win

Bob Brody lists some rather bizarre behavior for SaveSel and Append in XyWin.
I know that XyWin had a lot of problems in the shipping version(s), not the
least among them a glass jaw (boxing term for frequent GPFs). But SAS and
Append weren't, I think, among them. Bob should try: (1) latest version of
XyWin if he doesn't have it already (4.12?); (2) reinstalling, in case a part
of it is corrupted; looking at other stuff like TSRs and so on that might be
interfering (the glass jaw again?).

OTOH, those of you who still have XyWin installed my want to check out Bob's
problems--maybe there really is a problem that hasn't surfaced in the past 3
years.

Xyquest was a tiny company, TTG even tinier. Yes, a lot of releases *seemed*
like we were trying to get our paying customers to do our beta testing. But
I know from experience that we had fairly extensive in-house and beta
testing, at least for Signature/XyDos4 and XyWin. I think we did, within our
resources (about 45-50 development employees tops, if memory serves), better
than the then-giant WordPerfect (400-600 employees was the grapevine figure I
remember).

BTW, Bob, why struggle with XyWin unless you really need TT fonts or faxing?
XyDos runs relatively happily in a DOS box under Windows, OS/2, etc.
