No, because Windows won't select Xy-text beyond one windows screenful, and these files are
inevitably longer than that.

That's what I've been doing. Except what is the /x and the /z? Do they keep the same
filename? DOS doesn't recognize them.

ANYWAY, your post gave me an idea that does work to simplify the process a=
 bit:
I take the file that's ready to send (which is the product of running a Xy pgm to make it
pure ASCII and put in the right line endings), if I run a pgm that calls the DOS copy
command with the /a and /b, Notepad sucks in that
1A-omitted file without any of the post-1A garbage. So thanks for the hint.
