Xy4 And Memory

How does XY4 handle extended or expanded memory, if available ? is it different
from Signature ?

I am using XY4 and Sig in a task switching environment (Back & Forth).

When I allow 1024Kb of extended memory to XY4 it seems to grab all memory
available. When I try to run my HP LaserJet Fax in another partition I get a
message "no sufficient memory" and I have to remove/close my XY4 partition
before being able to use my Fax.

This does not happen when I use Signature in a very similar environment. What
could be the difference ?
