Re: XYWRITE digest 1133

No, I remember the beginning molestations of MS-DOS. Q-dos was quite
different. I remember there was something called a "tree" in which all of
the directories would spread out and could be managed easily. Qdos....now
I am cranking a slight memory of QD2. Ring a bell???

Perhaps there was, but the only bell "QDOS" rings for me
is "Quick'n'Dirty OS" -- which I believe was the embryonic
product Gates & Co. bought and turned into MS-DOS. (Will
check this tonight.)

There also used to be an MS-DOS competitor called QNX,
which (in addition to never catching on) offered built-in
networking and features that came only much later to
the Microsoft product.
