That's one reason why I store all (well, almost all; there have
been a few posts I've edited so as not to shock the polite eyes
of my executors one day) list posts to a set of directories (one
for each year) on my hard drive. Then I can search (SE *.*
/term/Helpkey) for the any term I need (and not just ones that
got into the subject or the first few lines of the body) at my
leisure, and not online.

I'd incline to agree with that. The caliber of the many other
editors and writers here is much greater than that of a forum
supposedly for editorial professionals (which shall in charity be
nameless) that I once--very briefly--frequented. To paraphrase
one Johan Wessel, "Call ye them editors? They know no tongue but
English, and barely that." (Originally said--regrettably--of
doctors, Aquinas, and Latin; quoted in C. S. Lewis, English
Literature in the 16th Century, Excluding Drama, OUP, p. 30.)
