Keyboard In XyWin

SysOp:

I would like to add my voice to Robert Holmgren's suggestion that you work on
the XyWin keyboard so that it works independent of Windows keyboard
conventions.

I have accumulations of save-get files, which I have been adding to since 3.54,
the version I started with, and while my save gets have always worked fine in
all subsequent Dos versions of XyWrite, the windows keyboard plays havoc with
them. Since customizability has always been the XyWrite 'hallmark' it seems
to me Tech. Group would win friends by working on this problem now. If a
brochure appeared on my desk some morning soon proclaiming the arrival of, say,
XyWin 1.5 with a headline announcing the arrival of keyboard flexibility, I
would be on the phone to you in 10 minutes.

In addition, is it possible for you to restore color modes to XyWin? As my job
involves much redlining, I have long found it useful to use different color
modes for redlined inserts and deletes, as well as to mark various levels of
display heads, etc. etc. In XyWin, I have found no way to duplicate this
feature, as you allow only the whole text to change colors, not parts of it.

And finally: Is there a way to adjust the cursor in XyWin to go from box to
square to let you quickly know if you are in insert or overstrike?

Thanks.
