Re: What Is XyWin?

Robert, maybe I shouldn't have used the term "kerning". It is very limited and
must be placed precisely by the user. I only use this when I want a headline to
look better. Unfortunately, I do not expect that this will be implemented as an
EDITOR feature any time soon.

I believe that when you get a chance to really use this product, you will
become fond of it. If the core of your work simply involves text editing and
powerful programming, I must admit that the philosophy behind XyWrite for
Windows was not aimed soley in that direction, although I'm sure you are well
aware of that. The Windows platform is the platform which the near (1-2 years)
future holds for our products. In this respect I must be candid. We do feel
that XyWrite power users will be able to take advantage of this product for
their purposes as well.

I do use some of the menus for my own purposes. I still use them for entering
typefaces and for creating new files (as I have many templates). I could
certainly set up programs which could take care of these tasks, however I
really don't mind bringing down the menu panels for certain tasks. I do like a
bit of variety in the way I work with the program. This affords just the right
mix for me (although I am not everyon else!!).

Best of luck when you receive the product. Please provide feedback here when
you can.
