Paul, There was an update to those line-numbering programs, which I uploaded to
the files section as NUMBERXY.ARC. There is now a version to number lines in
programs (not XPL) and improvements in the routines for numbering lines in
normal text, by pages or consecutively from top to bottom of a document. I
haven't had occasion to work with those programs since I finished the bylaws
project for my labor union that led to writing the programs, so I can't say I
have had any more experience with them than when I last posted them on
CompuServe and on a couple of Mass. BBS. The last versions use the formatting
power of XyWrite with a printer file loaded to insert line numbers. There are
also programs to delete line-numbers to facilitate editing the files.
