Good point. More specifically: The APPEND command appends the
file in the current window (or if text is DeFined, only the
DeFined text) to the specified file.

But also -- more relevant to Alison's predicament -- it also
works with DIRectory listings. If you execute
APPEND D:\PATH\FILENAME.EXT with the cursor on a file listed in
a directory, it appends the listed file to D:\PATH\FILENAME.EXT.
The idea is to do a batch conversion to XyWrite or Ascii, then
do a DIR on the individual (converted) page files and execute an
APPEND command repeatedly against the listed files to get them
all into a single file. If the files are named according to a
numerical scheme, a directory sorted on filenames and
extensions (command DSORT F,E) will enable you to go right down
the list and append each file in the proper order.

Either that, or fling the confounded disk back at your author
and tell him or her to get real.
