Re: Announcing vDos-lfn for XyWrite 1.5

Hi John,

Have you tried the latest build (i.e. build 2016.06.15) of the June 2016 branch of vDos-lfn? How does it compare with build 2016.06.03 of vDos-lfn based on the same branch of vDos as you said? Currently both the November 2015 and June 2016 branches of vDos-lfn are being developed and maintained, in parallel, so you can just choose the branch of vDos-lfn to use. The latest build of the June 2016 branch of vDos-lfn supports the bidirectional clipboard feature and the START command just like the latest build of the November 2015 branch of vDos-lfn. So you won't miss the latest additions in either branch of vDos-lfn and can just choose the branch you prefer.

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, I'd note that the fastest XY-capable version to date is Wengier's June 3 vdos_lfn, built on the June release of vdos.  For those who don't need the latest command line modifications, that version may be preferable.

Current vdosxy3 still offers the best cursor speed control, though the overall speed improvement in the June vdos/vdos_lfn comes close.

Manuel, sorry you had a problem. I understand now that I need the
Dropbox desktop app in order to share files with all the world. I'll
see to that over the weekend. And I'll add a link to Kari's site so
that it's accessible from XyWWWeb.
