to save without changing the display mode for files that contain
columns has an odd side effect. Normally in XY4, if you save a file,
and try to save again without changing anything in it, the prompt line
will say "Proceed" instead of "Done" and it will save you the time
required to save the whole file again. It still avoids the otiose
second save, but it says "Done" instead of "Proceed." Odd!
