Re: Refresh rates (XyDos in XP Window)

This isn't an affair of refresh rates but it is one of
timing in general. Has anyone else noticed how recent
versions of Dos do certain things slowly?

MSDos 6 for instance takes ages to delete files.

And a win98 dos box - dos 7 ? - takes a long time reading
directories. If you're refreshing files, it sounds as if,
instead of reading the whole directory into memory and
treating it there, it reads each file's details from the
hard disk - and none too quickly at that.

.. must be a conspiracy here.
