Re: EOF characters in XyWrite files (follow-up)

I note that there was no response to an interesting question Patricia
raised last month (see below). Any thoughts?
I just tested it. I turned doc info on (in SETTINGS.DFL df io=1), exited
and re-loaded Xy, then created a test file, DOCINFO.ON which I looked at in
hex with LIST.COM. Sure enough, after the first 1A it had extra stuff for
about 540 bytes followed by another 1A.
Then I reset it to df io=0, exited, relaunched and made a new file,
DOCINFO.OFF which had no extra stuff after the one and only 1A.
I then called DOCINFO.ON and re-saved it (in the Xy that had doc info set
to off). Result: no change to DOCINFO.ON--still has the same two 1A's and
the same intervening doc info between them.
Even copying the DOCINFO.ON file preserved the doc info--except, of course,
when I did:

Copy DOCINFO.ON /a TEST /b

which removed the first 1A and everything after it.
