The only problem with that is you have to put up with Win-9x to have it. I
could
make a W98 ERD easily enough on someone else's machine, the problem is that
those
recovery diskettes are machine-specific, geared to the particular hardware
that is
present on a given machine. Change the h/w config., or take it to another
W98 box and
it doesn't boot, at least not in my experience.

The DOS I've had on my system the last few years is IBM PC-DOS 2000, a.k.a.
DOS-7
with some Y2K fixes applied. It's not going to see anything beyond the 8G.
point, even
if equipped with one of those IFS filters. If they have updated this DOS
since then, it
hasn't come to my attention.
