Now that's an interesting observation. Possibly Xyquest knew that
enough people were doing that, and therefore got the idea for
settings.dfl in 4? Which, IIRC, was created on installation from
settings.xy, which remains, pristine if you don't mess with it, in
your directory, to bail you out if settings.dfl gets hopelessly scrambled.
