Re: Losing keyboard shortcuts with VDOS

Hi Paul,

I want to let you know that the configuration file from vDosXy and the file from vDos-lfn are not 100% compatible. Also, we know that vDosXy was based on an older version of vDos while vDos-lfn is based on the latest version of vDos; the configuration file for different versions of vDos are not 100% compatible either. Thus, I think you'd better try using the configuration file designed for that version of vDos or vDos-lfn instead of mixing them together, which might indeed cause stability issues as you mentioned. Anyway, I am glad to help in case you meet any specific issues.

Dear Wengier

Yes, that does solve the issue, thanks.  I also have the task bar
visible (but hidden, windows-style) which I don't think I had before.

I am finding that I have stability problems when I run vDos-lfn.  At the
moment I cannot identify any specific cause -- it may be a setting in my
CONFIG.TXT as I am using the setup from my vDosXY and just importing the
vDos-lfn.exe and the 4DOS files and folder.  Unfortunately I have
restricted time to explore this at present and I am away for a couple of
weeks from tomorrow so I will not be able to do more until I get back.

Hi Paul,

I have updated vDos-lfn to build 2015.05.10 to address your problem
regarding shortcuts. It has been tested to work on my Windows 10 PC.
Please try the latest vDos-lfn and see if it works for you now.
