Re: Windows 10 is creeping into your system, it is time to make a decision!

MS will -- reportedly -- continue to offer free security updates to Win7 until 2020 and to Win 8.1 until 2023, under terms which are part of the original license.

There's some fear, however, that MS will pull the plug on free security updates to 10 well before
either 2020 or 2023, requiring a monthly subscription -- once everyone has "upgraded".
So that "free" copy of Win 10 grade may prove to be expensive, compared to sticking
with what you've got at least until there are no further security patches.

BTW, I believe you can prevent the stealth downloads of Win10 by disabling automatic update.
Run update manually once a month and select only crucial updates.  I have two systems, 7
and 8.1, and neither has been prompting an "upgrade", with auto update disabled on both.
