page numbers to advance as if the document were all one piece. ie,

I am not XY-literate enough to suggest an elegant way, but since
it is only 10 chapters, couldn't enter the chapter numbers
manually 10 times, i.e. ≪rf 1-≪pn≫ ≫, ≪rf 2- etc. ?
