XyWrite will automatically make use of a certain amount of expanded memory, but
not a whole lot. You are probably using an expanded memory manager such as
QEMM, which lets programs use the memory as expanded or extended, as they
prefer. But when you have multiple files open and they must swap to disk,
neither type will absorb them. You will need the RAM disk for that. You are
unlikely to need more than 1MB, unless you use huge files. I keep mine at
1.4MB so I can copy a whole diskette to the ram drive when needed.
