Re: XyWin Keyboards

Leslie, well.... as to whether it would be a great selling point, I can't say.
We have many users that use XPL to their benefit... and many users that work
with documents of this sort. I guess it boils down to something like this...
when the Development and Marketing people sit down to make decisions about what
will and will not be incorporated into the product, they are considering two
basic issues in today's marketplace. First, the product and it's features are
compared to that of the major player's products. Second, is a proposed feature
something that deviates from these competitive products (and for the better in
most cases), to distinguish it from the competition, and does it make sense, as
a feature, for the masses of our customer base.

The reason why I'm rambling on like this is that I've been in meetings where
feature proposals have been presented. Usually, it's a bundle of proposals. I
have seen feature proposals that satisfy what we believe to be a niche, get put
aside. Although the feature is considered to be acceptable and conforming, the
development time cannot be provided due to a higher priority. Therefore, in
the past, it was common procedure for Technical Support to write custom
programs in XPL for our customers, with no charge. This was not a service
which you would commonly find available with competitors. Unfortunately, our
Support Department has not had the resources, or time to reinstitute this
policy. That doesn't mean that it will be gone indefinitely.

Hopefully I haven't made things more confusing!
