does Word or any other program have a way of reversing an UNDO?

In Word, I believe it's called REDO.

At one time I had automated a SAve before a ChangeInvisible, plus a small utility that would replace the current document with its backup. That gave me one level of UNDO after a disastrous or ill-advised CI. In my version of the menus/dialogs, there's a Refresh item that ABorts and reCAlls the current file - which reverts it back to the previously SAved version.

In any case, SAving a doc before doing something big (Change, huge deletion, moving paragraphs, etc.) is good hygiene. Word just automates the safety valve in another way (keeping the changes in the doc), catering to the more careless writer.
