RE: Typing allergy

Thanks, Carl, that looks like just what I need, and also opens the door
to other possibilities.

It is incredible the way one can make dBase output XyWrite-formatted
text. The Suits wanted the bill to "look more like a bill"; i.e., with
column tables and borders. So I created the format in Xy, then copied and
pasted the formatting code into the dBase program's output commands. Ran
like a charm. And, entre nous and let rude ears be absent, if there's one
area where Xy can be somewhat unforgiving, it's column tables. I've had
my whole DOS session lock up if one ≪CON≫ code got accidentally deleted
when editing in Expanded Mode. And, since dBase 5 is a DOS app, the
guillemets actually LOOK like guillemets within dBase, which makes
proofing and debugging much easier on the eyes. Wish I had discovered
this years ago.
