Does XyWrite IV DOS work on Win7-64 natively?
 No.

Does Win7-64 (and other 64-bit Windows) need some form of
virtualization to run DOS programs like XyWrite IV, and 16-bit
programs like XyWin or NotaBene?
 Yes.

Does that virtualizer need to be VPC?
 No. There are several alternatives.

How much of a hassle is this going to be?
 Probably not too much, but definitely an added layer of
complexity.
