Re: customizing keyboards to resemble....

" 1. Its facility for making and *updating at any time* an ASCII
" file named ED.DIR, which contains a current list of files in any
" directory with full directory information, annotations and how-to
" notes, etc., is unrivalled by any dedicated utility (I have tried
" them all). I have one in just about every directory in my
" computer. I will append the one for the PC-WRITE home directory
" to give an idea of how useful they are.
"
" 2. Because it treats ASCII 10 and 13 quite differently from XY,
" and records macros differently, it is sometimes quite handy for
" cleaning up XY files in one way or another. For this reason, I
" have customized its keyboard so that it is almost identical with
" that of XY.

-----------
And having come to Xy3 via Pc-Write and
ChiWriter, customized my Xy to the more
common or more used PC-Write,ChiWriter keys.
And then had to change a few for each keyboard
(laptop, winkeyboard, odd \|/~ keys) for
	each machine Xy is on.
Some of the keys are mnemonic, but physical
(twist the lefthand this way and magic), and
I couldn't do the same function with two
chopsticks because my mind has 'forgotten'
the reading of the particular key.
It's like folding a paper airplane or the
flapping bird in the dark--second nature.

And the option of complete keyboard customizing
has kept me from Windows and other, lesser
wordprocessor which don't allow it and lead me
to the faster, higher, stronger Xywrite.
PC-Write (still available) does allow customizing.
