Re: Mr Gates strikes again

Regarding the Gates alarm clock:

Don't overlook the most ingenious aspect of the
two-to-the-thirty-second-millisecond bug. It turns all the other
Windoze-crashing glitches people struggle with every day into protective
features: by hanging up the system and forcing you to reboot long before
the operating system logs 49 uninterrupted days, they guarantee you'll
never get caught out by the 49.7-day alarm clock.

(By the way, the James Gleick's Sunday Times Mag article is worth a look
for a description of the Kafkaesque manner in which Microsoft is handling
the problem.)
