I use XyWin every day and just bought a new Windows 7 computer on which I
will install a virtual XP machine so that if/when my present machine dies, I
can move to that one.
I have also seen claims that one can run an XP virtual machine under Windows
8, but decided not to risk it.
It is a total mystery to me why anyone would use Word instead of XyWrite. If
you must submit something in Word format, just feed the XyWrite file into
Word and convert it -- as I do with my nine newspaper columns a week.

Does anybody have an idea how many of us still use XY4, XY3 and XYWin?
I'm guessing there are 20-30 from the list but that could be way out, in
either direction.
