Yuz,
Danish, like Yiddish apparently, also makes clear distinctions between
maternal and paternal relations, including cousins. Danish also
distinguishes between blood-relations and relations through marriage. To
my Danish niece, for example, I'm the
uncle-who-married-the-sister-of-the-niece's-father, and my wife is her
paternal aunt.
