Re: New U2 frame DDIR

On this DDIR . . . I'm on a Mac, using a DOS emulator (Boxer, a front-end for DosBox), so nearly all of the posts in the past couple of months, while certainly of interest, are not useful for my set up. I would like to use DDIR within XY4; 4DOS is the command processor already in use, and I assume it's a U2 frame? I don't need the Windows-centric U2 upgrade and its recent updates, but would like to add the frame for DDIR to my current system. Can this be done, say, by Carl sending me the code for the frame then using ADD2U2?

Thanks all . . .

Harry,

> DDIR works swell, here. Thanks for this. Is it the same as LDIR?

DDIR fetches the directory listing from 4DOS if vDos-lfn is running,
otherwise from Windows. LDIR always fetches the dir from Windows.

Shelling to 4DOS is faster. Also, XyWrite is paused for as long as it takes
for the DIR command to complete. Thus there's no timing issue with very
long DIR listings. This is true of any version of DOS, but the value-added
of DDIR is long filenames. Otherwise, you may as well use the Xy DIR
command.
