"Garbage" misunderstood

On 24-9-97, Rene v.R. misread an earlier posting of mine: I referred not to
"garbagey characterS" [plural] but to "the garbagey character [singular] of
incoming e-mails ..."

Below is a literal Forward of Rene's reply to me: what I was/am complaining
about is the lines beginning "Sender: owner-..." and ending
"X-Listprocessor-..." This block is apparently a feature of Compuserve's
mail system, when dealing with incoming messages from outside C'serve: it
doesn't appear on "internal" messages which I receive direct from another
C'serve subscriber. C'serve's tech.support people aren't very helpful:
I've just been told that's the way it is.

Perhaps I shouldn't have posted my complaint, since the answer is obvious:
find another access provider. But apart from the fact that C'serve is the
cheapest I've found, I like certain features of its system -- the relative
ease of reading 50 or so incoming messages each day, and the speed with
which I can transfer incoming e-mail from C'serve's "In-basket" to other
text-file directories on my hard drive, thence to be read and edited in
XyWrite.

I apologize for wasting everyone's time with my complaint.

What exactly do you mean by garbagey characters? If you are more
specific, I'm sure there is a solution.
