Re: logon with XY 3.58

Ah! That was the network gimmick. It probably works as in XY4. You need
to create a file called LOG, and as I remember give it an extension that
matches the three-letter login you want to use. At least I think so. But
to be honest with you, I feel as Bismarck must have when he uttered that
quip, "there are three people who understood the terms of the treaty;
two are dead, I am the third, and I forget."

Anyway, fuggedaboudddit! That was the only thing that 3.58B was for--or
rather would have been for--network connex. It was never released; it
was a Beta version (hence the B after the 8). If you have 3.55 or
beyond, you're golden. There was nothing in 3.58, that I know if, that
would have been much an improvement. If you want more features, go on to
version 4.018.

I have found a copy of XY 3.58B which I'd like to try out but it asks me to logon every time I try and call a file or a directory. Can anybody tell me how to logon, and whether it can be disabled? Thanks Paul Breeze
