I've never used a Mac, but my brother uses nothing else
(you should hear him on the subject of Gatesware; makes
me sound like a fan of M$). And I recall his telling
me, pre-OSX, that there was a key combination one
could, and should, hit periodically on boot-up to
"reset the pointers," which sounds like what cleaning
up the Registry is supposed to accomplish.
